Become a Qualified Electrician in the UK: The Course Route Step by Step

On this page

Quick answer: To become a qualified electrician in the UK, complete a Level 3 electrician apprenticeship. Entry usually needs 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4, including English and maths. If you already work as an electrician without Level 3, the Experienced Worker Assessment has routes for 3 or 5 years of experience. Then get the ECS card from the JIB to prove your grade.
