Tsai Electro Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 3, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Tsai Electro (“we”, “us”) collects on www.tsaielectro.com and in the Tsai Electro Android app, why we use it, who processes it for us, and how you can see, change or delete it. Questions about your data go to hello@tsaielectro.com. Read our Terms of Service.
Summary
- One Tsai Electro account works on the website and in the Android app.
- We use your information to run practice exams, your learning record and hours ledger, your purchases, and the emails you ask for.
- Website payments are handled by the payment service shown at checkout, which may include Creem, Stripe or PayPal. The current Android app lets you use existing website access and does not offer checkout. Any Google Play transactions are processed by Google Play. We never receive or store your full card number.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- You can delete your account and personal data at any time (see section 10).
1. Information you give us on the website
- Account. When you create an account we collect your email address, a username and a password. WordPress stores only a hashed version of your password. The same account signs you in to the Android app.
- Purchases. When you buy a product, WooCommerce keeps an order record with your name, email address, the billing details asked for at checkout, the products and the amount paid. Payments are handled by the service shown at checkout, such as Creem, Stripe or PayPal, on its own systems. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Learning record. When you are signed in, we save your practice and mock exam attempts (the questions answered, the options you chose and your scores), your readiness estimate and weak topics, the articles you open, the tools you use, and the points and badges you earn. If you use the career workspace, we also save your chosen career stage, weekly route and reminder preferences, workbook answers and feedback, review dates and weekly reflections. These records use your original website account and sync with the App. Keep customer personal information and real project identifiers out of workbook answers.
- Hours ledger. If you use the hours ledger, we store the employers, supervising Masters, work periods and hours you enter. Your ledger is private to your account. You can download it as a CSV file or delete all of it at any time.
- Membership features. If you apply to the Founding Class, we collect your full name, city, age range and work background and, if you choose to give it, your TDLR apprentice license number, which we check against the State of Texas public license data. Your member passport is private by default; a field becomes public only if you switch it on. In a class group, other members see your first name and city only if you choose to show them.
- Question error reports. When you report a problem with a practice question, we store the question ID, the page, your message and whether you were signed in. To limit abuse we keep a salted hash of your IP address, never the address itself.
- Question discussions. If you post in a question discussion or report a post, we store your post or report with your account. Email addresses and phone numbers typed into a post are removed before it is saved. If you send a question to Tsai Electro about a practice item, it is stored privately, and your name is never shown with a published answer.
- Email subscriptions. When you sign up for the Texas Electrical Career Weekly or another newsletter, we store your email address, the page and campaign you signed up from, and when you confirmed. The weekly brief uses double opt-in, and sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted after 30 days. Account holders may also receive short account emails, such as a welcome email and progress summaries. Every email has an unsubscribe link; newsletter emails and account emails each have their own link, so stopping one does not stop the other.
- Contact forms and comments. When you use a contact form or leave a comment, we collect your name, email address and message. For comments, WordPress also records your IP address and browser user agent, and an anti-spam plugin checks each comment for spam.
2. Information collected automatically
- Technical data. Your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view, the time of your visit, the referring site and campaign (UTM) tags. Our hosting and security tools record this in server and security logs, and our content delivery network (bunny.net) processes it to deliver pages quickly.
- Google Analytics 4. Through Site Kit by Google, we measure which pages and features are used, for example page views, practice exam starts and completions, and sign-ups. Reports are aggregated, and Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
- Practice scores without an account. If you take a practice exam without signing in, your results are saved only in your browser storage, up to your last 20 attempts, and our server stores nothing about them. Clearing your browser data removes them.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
- Essential cookies keep you signed in, hold your cart, remember your language and protect the site from attacks.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics help us understand how pages are used.
- Advertising cookies. Google AdSense shows ads on some pages. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ad Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, data protection law gives you additional rights over advertising cookies, including the right to object to personalized advertising.
- Embedded YouTube videos may set cookies when you play them.
To control cookies, block or delete them in your browser settings (see the links at the end of this page); some features, such as signing in and checkout, need essential cookies to work. To stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. To stop personalized Google ads, use Google Ad Settings or aboutads.info as described above.
If you open a member invite link, this site stores the invite code in a first-party cookie for up to 60 days to apply member offers and credit referral rewards. The cookie holds only the invite code, not your name or email. You can withdraw and delete it at any time by clearing this site’s cookies.
4. How we use your information
- Provide your account, practice exams, readiness, learning record and hours ledger
- Process orders and unlock what you bought
- Send the emails you asked for, and messages about your account or orders
- Answer your questions and fix reported errors in practice questions
- Measure and improve our pages and tools
- Show ads on the website through Google AdSense
- Keep the site secure and prevent spam, fraud and abuse
- Meet legal, tax and accounting obligations
If you are in the EU, the EEA or the UK, our legal bases are: contract (your account, purchases and the features you use), consent (newsletters and app notifications), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, analytics and improving our content) and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
5. Who we share information with
We use service providers to run parts of the service, and give each one only the information it needs. Team learning also has a specific sharing choice: workbook answers are private. Only if you choose to share an outcome can the purchasing employer see its workbook title and preparation status. Sharing is off by default and can be turned off again; it does not reveal your draft answers. Employers can assign tasks to their paid team. Our service providers include:
- Hostinger: website and app hosting, and sending email from our domain
- bunny.net: content delivery network
- Creem, Stripe and PayPal: website payments where offered at checkout
- Google: Google Analytics, Google AdSense and YouTube embeds on the website; basic identity and email for Google sign-in; Google Play for any Play transactions; Firebase Cloud Messaging only in configured, opted-in app builds
- MailPoet: sending emails for some of our newsletter lists
- Wordfence: website security and firewall
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the site. We do not sell your personal information.
6. How long we keep information
- Account, learning record and hours ledger: until you delete them or your account.
- Order records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you ask us to delete them. Unsubscribing stops every email from that list.
- Unconfirmed weekly brief sign-ups: deleted after 30 days.
- Question error reports: we keep the most recent 500 reports.
- Practice scores taken without an account: on your device only, until you clear your browser data.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics keeps this data for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, at most 14 months.
7. Tsai Electro Android app
What the app collects
- Account: your email address and your ET account ID. The app uses the same account as this website.
- Learning: your answer history, mock exam scores, readiness and missed questions.
- Work hours: employer, supervising Master, work periods and hours, only when you enter them yourself.
- Access and purchases: the App reads your existing website membership and purchased-file access. In versions that support Google Play purchases, the server verifies the Google Play purchase token and order ID before unlocking access. The current website-access edition does not offer checkout.
- Notifications: reminders can be scheduled locally on your phone after you allow notifications. A build configured for Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) can register an FCM token with our server only after you opt in; local reminders work without FCM registration.
- Reports: the text of question error reports you choose to send.
Signing in: the app has no sign-up form. To sign in, it opens the tsaielectro.com sign-in page in your system browser (a Custom Tab) and uses etos-auth (OAuth authorization code with PKCE). If you do not have an account yet, create a free ET account on the website; the website and the app share the same account. The app does not collect or store your password. Only sign-in tokens are kept on the phone, in the Android Keystore. If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides the basic identity and email you approve. Link Google to your original website account to keep the access and progress already in that account.
What the app does not collect
- Your location, phone address book, photos or advertising ID. The App contains no advertising SDK. Employer or supervisor details that you type into the optional hours ledger are still stored as described above; the App does not read them from your phone address book.
- Payment card numbers. The current App does not offer checkout. Payment services handle transactions on their own systems.
- Crash logs, diagnostics or usage analytics. The app contains no crash-reporting or analytics SDK, sends no analytics data and does not request the advertising ID permission.
How the app uses this data: to provide practice and readiness, sync your progress across devices, verify purchases and send reminders. We do not sell it to anyone and do not use it for advertising.
Who receives it: providers that run the service, including Hostinger (hosting), Google Play for any Play transactions, and Firebase Cloud Messaging in configured, opted-in builds. If you opt in to share a team outcome, the purchasing employer receives only the workbook title and preparation status, not the draft answers.
Security: all data is sent over HTTPS, encrypted in transit. Your sign-in token on the phone is stored in the Android Keystore, and offline question sets are encrypted.
Without signing in: scores from the 20 free questions are stored only on your phone and are not uploaded.
Deleting your account
- In the app: Account > Delete account.
- Email hello@tsaielectro.com to delete your account.
- After deletion, your account and personal data are erased. Transaction records that tax law requires us to keep are retained, with your identity removed and replaced by a random ID.
Deleting part of your data
- In the app, you can delete a single employer, supervising Master or work period from your hours ledger.
- On the website, Delete everything at tsaielectro.com/career-path/my-hours/ clears your whole hours ledger at once, on free accounts too.
- Answer history and scores cannot be deleted one by one. To remove them, delete your account or send a personal data erasure request to hello@tsaielectro.com.
Age: the app is for people 18 and older.
Contact: hello@tsaielectro.com
8. How we protect information
The website and the app use HTTPS everywhere. Passwords are stored only as hashes, access to personal data is limited to the people who need it to run the service, the site runs a security firewall, and we keep WordPress and its plugins up to date.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in the EU and EEA, the UK GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA and similar US state laws, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it, including in a portable format
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete your personal information
- Object to or restrict some uses, and withdraw consent at any time
- Opt out of the sale of personal information or its sharing for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information; to stop personalized Google ads, use Google Ad Settings or your browser’s cookie settings
- Use these rights without being treated differently
- Complain to your local data protection authority
To use any of these rights, email hello@tsaielectro.com from the email address on your account. We may ask you to confirm the request before we act on it. We answer within the time the law in your region allows, for example one month under the GDPR and 45 days under the CCPA. If someone acts for you as an authorized agent, we will ask for proof that you gave them permission.
YouTube API Services
Tsai Electro uses YouTube API Services to upload videos to its own YouTube channel. Our upload tool requests one permission only: youtube.upload. It is used to publish videos that Tsai Electro made to the Tsai Electro channel. We do not use YouTube API Services to read, collect, store or share data about viewers or other YouTube users.
- By using YouTube features on this site, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms
- Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- You can revoke an app’s access to your Google account at any time on the Google security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions
10. How to delete your account and data
- In the Android app: Account > Delete account.
- Email hello@tsaielectro.com to delete your account.
After deletion, your account and personal data are erased. When you ask, we also remove the personal data in your website orders by hand, except the transaction records that tax law requires us to keep; we de-identify those records.
You can also remove parts of your data yourself: use the unsubscribe link in any email, clear your whole hours ledger with Delete everything at tsaielectro.com/career-path/my-hours/ (in the Android app you can also delete single entries), or clear your browser data to remove practice scores saved without an account. Practice answer history and scores cannot be deleted one by one; to remove them, delete your account or send us a personal data erasure request.
11. International transfers
Our service providers operate in several countries, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live. When that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
12. Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher age set in your region), and the Android app is for people 18 and older. Posting in question discussions, a public member passport and showing your name in a class group are available only to members 18 and older. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we also post a notice on the site.
14. Contact us
For any question about this policy or your data, email hello@tsaielectro.com.

Privacy FAQ
How do I delete my Tsai Electro account and data?
In the Android app, open Account and tap Delete account. You can also email hello@tsaielectro.com from the email address on your account. Your account and personal data are erased; transaction records that tax law requires us to keep are retained in de-identified form.
Does Tsai Electro sell my personal information?
No. We do not sell your personal information, and data from the Android app is never used for advertising. On the website, Google AdSense may use cookies to show ads, and you can turn off personalized ads in Google Ad Settings.
Do you store my credit card number?
No. Website payments are handled by the service shown at checkout, such as Creem, Stripe or PayPal. The current Android app does not offer checkout; any Google Play transactions are processed by Google Play. We never receive or store your full card number.
What happens to my practice scores if I do not sign in?
On the website, your results are saved only in your browser storage, up to your last 20 attempts, and our server stores nothing about them. In the Android app, scores from the 20 free questions stay on your phone and are not uploaded. Sign in to save scores to your account and see them on every device.
How do I stop emails from Tsai Electro?
Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email. Newsletter emails and account emails each have their own link, so stopping one does not stop the other. You can also email hello@tsaielectro.com.

Optional book-study emails, downloads and Amazon link measurement
If you voluntarily request our book-study resources and confirm your subscription, we use MailerLite to process your email address, consent and confirmation records, and subscription status so we can deliver the requested resources and messages. The signup form describes the series and update frequency. You can unsubscribe using the link in each marketing email. We do not treat a free website account or an Amazon purchase as consent to this separate email series. See MailerLite’s Privacy Policy.
The blank downloadable study worksheets are hosted on Google Drive. Google processes access to those files under its Privacy Policy. Filling a downloaded worksheet does not send its form entries to Tsai Electro; keep your completed copy on your own device. No purchase is required to use these free tools.
Where we use Amazon Attribution campaign-coded links, Amazon receives information about interactions with those links and uses it to provide measurement reports under the Amazon Attribution terms. The shared campaign codes identify our campaign and book format; we do not add your name, email address or Tsai Electro user ID to those links. Amazon handles your visit and purchase under its Privacy Notice. You can also go directly to Amazon and search for the book title or ASIN.
We use Amazon Attribution reports to assess our marketing and handle them under Amazon’s confidentiality requirements. The optional book-study email signup, downloadable files and Amazon links do not require you to submit a completed worksheet or electrical-work records to us.
