Common questions

What is in the Washington rules module?

A focused Washington rules practice supplement: 40 cited questions, 3 drill sets, and the exam content outline. Preview five questions above and see the full contents list before you buy.

Which NEC edition does the Washington exam use?

PSI bulletin 4232 and the Washington Department of Labor and Industries exam page list the 2020 NEC. The department says the state exams will update to the 2026 NEC in July of 2027, and no exact date was found. Check the current bulletin before exam day.

How many Washington rules questions are on the exam?

For the General Journey Level Electrician (01) exam, PSI lists a separate WA Codes section of 17 questions in 1 hour. You need 70% on that section on its own. PSI lists no sub-topics for it.

Does Washington issue a journeyman license?

Washington issues certificates of competency. The general journey level certificate is type (01). This page uses Journeyman as the common search term, and the official term is journey level electrician.

Does it include NEC practice questions?

No. It covers Washington electrical law only: chapter 19.28 RCW and chapter 296-46B WAC. The NEC and Theory section is not included. This PDF is for study before exam day, not an authorized exam reference. Check the current PSI reference rules before your test.

How do I get it?

After payment the PDF is available from your order confirmation and your order email. Print it or read it on screen.

How does the timed drill work?

Each full printable drill has 17 questions, the same size as the WA Codes section, and the last set holds the remaining 6. Set your own 60-minute timer for a full set as a suggested practice target. Full sets match the WA Codes section: 17 questions in 1 hour. PSI scores that section on its own at 70%.
