Look the person or company up on the TDLR License Search before you start work. You can search by name or business name, license number, license type, city, county or ZIP code. The search covers active licenses only, so a name that does not show up needs a follow-up call to TDLR.
Checked against the official TDLR pages on October 16, 2026. TDLR can change its forms and fees, so the official page comes first.
How to search
- Name. Type a person as “Last, First”, or type the business name.
- License number. Numbers only.
- Narrow it down. License type, city, county and ZIP code are optional filters. County includes an “Out Of State” option.
- Not found? The search page says to contact TDLR Customer Service at 800-803-9202.
Ask the employer for the exact business name and license number first. A short, exact search is easier to read than a long list of similar names.
