Questions, answered
What is on the electrical apprenticeship aptitude test?
Most IBEW/NECA JATCs that name their test use the electrical training ALLIANCE aptitude test (formerly the NJATC test): Algebra and Functions, 33 questions in 46 minutes, and Reading Comprehension, 36 questions in 51 minutes, with no calculator. This kit has 1,300 math and 216 reading questions in that format and 6 timed simulations.
Does this kit cover the GAN test?
The practice tests are built for the electrical training ALLIANCE format. Some JATCs now use the GAN Aptitude Test Battery, which adds paper folding and mechanical reasoning. The kit's application guide shows which test 49 JATCs use and includes a 14-day plan for GAN's Personal Experience Form; check your JATC's page before you buy.
What score do I need?
There is no national passing score. JATCs that publish a minimum use 3, 4 or 5; GAN programs usually rank applicants instead. The application guide lists what 49 JATCs publish, checked October 9, 2026.
How is this different from iPREP or Ultimate Electrician's Guide?
You pay once and keep the files: 1,516 questions, 6 timed simulations, 20 interview answers with a mock interview, and an application guide covering 49 JATCs, for US$39. iPREP lists US$49.95 for 30 days; Ultimate Electrician's Guide lists US$60 for one year, US$90 with interview prep (their own pages, October 9, 2026).
Can I try before buying?
Yes. The free practice has a 10-question quick start and full timed algebra and reading sections, with your score right away and no sign-up.
How do refunds work?
Ask within 30 days of payment and you get a full refund if you have not downloaded the paid files. If a paid file is broken or the product is clearly not what its page describes, you choose a full refund or a working replacement, even after downloading. To ask, reply to your order confirmation email or use the Contact page, with your order number and the email you used at checkout.
