Power System Multi-Crew Coordination Review

Updated About 3 min read

Free system decision record. Federal occupation and regulatory pages checked 2026-10-27.

Power System Multi-Crew Coordination Review

Create a management-level impact map before coordinating crews across system areas. Use employer-controlled diagrams, procedures and operating decisions for the actual system.

Boundary: this page does not provide switching, protection, grounding, testing or restoration instructions. It does not authorize work. The system owner and responsible employer control procedures, operating boundaries and decisions.

Six-part system map

System area Employer-controlled source Upstream input Downstream effect Operating boundary Decision owner
Transmission Current diagram, work order and operating procedure Source condition and approved scope Connected substation or distribution impact Named limit and status Responsible operating role
Distribution Current circuit and work records Substation or feeder condition Connected work and customer restoration dependency Named limit and status Responsible operating role
Substation Current station record and approved scope Transmission and control input Feeder, equipment and crew interface Named limit and status Responsible station role
Protection and control references Owner-approved settings and review record System configuration Required review or hold point No field change from this worksheet Named protection or control reviewer
Outage and restoration Approved outage record and current status Work dependencies and release conditions Successor work and restoration decision Owner-confirmed window Named outage or operating role
Construction standard Applicable approved drawing, specification and revision Scope and site condition Inspection, turnover and operating interface Construction versus operation boundary Named construction and operating reviewers

The federal pages establish broad coverage areas. They do not supply the actual system diagram, outage approval, protection setting or operating decision. Those remain employer-controlled inputs.

Management decision record

  1. Freeze the source revision and checked time for every system area.
  2. List each crew, work order and interface without assigning field procedures.
  3. Trace upstream inputs and downstream effects to the responsible reviewer.
  4. Mark unknown configuration, boundary or status fields unresolved.
  5. Record the named owner who can approve, reject or update each decision.
  6. After a change, preserve the prior value and repeat the dependency review.

Complete means reviewable

A complete desk record shows sources, dependencies, boundaries, decision owners and unresolved fields. It does not mean the field work is approved or the system is ready.
