- Document tracker (pages 6).
- Final check and submission record (pages 7-8).
- TDLR reply tracker (pages 9).

Use the workbook to prepare your document references and open questions, then complete the current official ELC003 separately. Match each preparation prompt to the current official form before filing.
Before you pay
Use this personal preparation workbook to organize records and questions before completing and submitting the current official forms yourself. Use the workbook on your computer, with guided practice
The original PDF now comes with an additional editable XLSX companion at the same US$29 price.
- My record: enter your own source references, owners, status, next actions and personal review dates. Formula checks flag missing record fields and personal reviews due as of the date you choose.
- Fictional example: see records adapted from this workbook’s existing examples. Keep these practice entries separate from your own record.
- Practice: answer three topic-specific record decisions. Each A/B/C selection gives feedback, with an answer explanation for review.
Download the PDF and the separate texas-electrical-contractor-application-workbook-editable-companion.xlsx. Use a desktop spreadsheet application that supports XLSX formulas and validation lists. Save a copy before entering your own information. Choose your own review dates and check the workbook when following up; arrange any email reminders separately.
Use the formula feedback to check field presence and the personal planning dates you enter. Review flagged items against your own source evidence and the PDF’s context and official-source links. Confirm eligibility, compliance, insurance choices and work authorization through the responsible professional or authority; complete official forms separately.
Compare the names and references before you copy them into official forms
An additional offline record cross-check is included at the same price. Type the business names recorded from your application preparation, insurance evidence and Master designation evidence. The tool flags different text, keeps each source reference beside your question and next action, and exports a reusable review transcript or private JSON.
Start with the fictional mismatch example, then compare the business-name text you enter from each source. Keep the document reference beside every discrepancy and next action. Confirm the underlying documents and official requirements separately before filing; matching text is a review aid, not approval evidence.
Download contractor-application-record-crosscheck.zip, extract it and open START-HERE.html on your computer. No account, installation or connection is needed after download. Export before closing: entries are not automatically saved or sent. The existing PDF and editable XLSX remain included.

Fictional business exercise, not a real quote. Base materials $2,400, labor 60 h×$35/h, other direct costs $300. Exercise overhead is 10% of direct costs; target gross margin 20% of selling price after those listed costs. Ignore tax, insurance premiums and financing costs in this arithmetic. Available opening cash $1,200; hypothetical deposit $1,500 arrives before materials $2,400, then payroll $2,100 before any other receipt. Change request: materials $400 +labor 8 h×$35; same overhead/margin assumptions, not authorized yet. Crew 2 people×32 h availability=64 h; base labor 60 h. Business name in application differs from insurance document; Master designation evidence and current-form check remain missing.
Calculate direct cost and cost including the stated overhead.
Compare the worked reasoning
Labor 60×35=$2,100; direct 2,400+2,100+300=$4,800; overhead $480; listed cost $5,280. This is a supplied business model, not an industry cost standard.
Ejercicio empresarial ficticio, no oferta real. Cambio solicitado: materiales $400+8 h×$35; mismos supuestos, aún no autorizado. Equipo 2 personas×32 h=64 h; base 60 h. Nombre de solicitud difiere del seguro; faltan designación del Master y revisión de formulario vigente.
Calcula costo directo y costo con gastos generales indicados.

Build your next career move with skills you can show.

- Choose your starting work and target role, including cross-career and reverse moves.

Each new figure has English and Spanish versions (16 language versions), plus editable SVG copies. Put them to work with the included 39 cases and 78 guides.
Find the first error while the problem is still fresh. Check 58 focused values and decisions across 16 original and changed model cases. Try an actual studio station: General foreman: accepted output, labor and forecast
Learn the method
Multi-foreman leadership reconciles scope, accepted output, worker-hours, quality and delegated decisions across crews. In a fictional earned-hours model, earned hours=accepted units×budget hours per unit; labor-hour variance=earned minus actual hours. A conditional forecast at unchanged productivity is not a commitment or an individual worker rating. Keep installed-but-unaccepted work separate from accepted output, and verify actual employer authority rather than treating a title as automatic promotion.
Fictional packet
Fictional package 100 units, budget 2 worker-hours/unit. Crews report 50 installed, but 10 remain pending quality review, so40 are accepted. Actual labor 100 worker-hours. No authorization to waive quality checks or change contract terms exists.
Your attempt: Calculate earned hours, variance, accepted productivity and a conditional total-hour forecast.
Compare the worked guide
Earned 80 hours; variance−20 hours. Accepted productivity 0.40 unit/hour versus planned 0.50. If that rate continued unchanged,100 units would require 250 hours total. Do not count the 10 pending units as accepted or present 250 as a guaranteed final cost. Assign evidence owners for quality status, actual hours, changed conditions and authorized recovery options.
The included studio adds changed-condition retries, evidence notes and the related career bridge.
