Short answer: The PSI bulletin lists Texas test sites in Abilene, Amarillo, Arlington, Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Dallas/Richardson, El Paso, Fort Worth, Harlingen, Houston, Lubbock, McAllen, Midland, San Antonio, Tyler and Waco. You choose the site when you book: search by city or postal code online, pick a date and time, and pay, or call PSI at (833) 333-4741. Plan to arrive 30 minutes early, because late arrivals are not admitted and the exam fee is forfeited.
Picking a site and a route is one step. Passing both parts is the step the pack is for. The Practice Pack has 10 full timed two-part mocks at the real format, 59 questions in 130 minutes plus 26 in 110 minutes, with a score by part and by topic. It also has 299 step-by-step calculation solutions and code-book navigation aids. US$39, one payment.

| City | Sites listed in the bulletin |
|---|---|

Street addresses and driving directions for every site are in the PSI bulletin. In cities with more than one site, match the test center named in your confirmation message to its street address in the bulletin before you set your route.
Pick a date and a route
- Search. On PSI’s TDLR page, sign in, then search by city or postal code. By phone, PSI takes bookings Monday to Friday 6:30 am to 9:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Central Time.
- Choose a date and time that leaves room for both parts. NEC Knowledge runs 130 minutes and Calculations runs 110 minutes, and time does not roll over between them. Up to 15 minutes of tutorial before the exam does not count toward exam time.
- Pay and save the confirmation. After you pay, PSI sends a message confirming the test center, date and time.
- Drive the route in your head. Use the tool below to set a leave-by time that gets you there 30 minutes early for sign-in and ID check.
- Plan your ride. People who came with you may not wait in the center, the building or on the property, so arrange a pickup time instead.
When things change
- Site closed by weather or an emergency. The exam is rescheduled and PSI tries to contact you. You can check the status at (833) 333-4741.
- Testing outside Texas. Out-of-state testing is requested on the PSI accommodations form.
- Walk-in or standby seats. PSI does not publish standby or walk-in testing, so book a seat ahead. If you need something unusual, ask PSI.
- Running late on the day. Late arrivals are not admitted, and missing the exam or arriving late forfeits the exam fee. Build the buffer in now.
